Eagles and Lady Eagles Win vs Gulf Shores Alabama

Gulf Shores. AL -- Rhea County High School tennis team won their tennis matches vs Gulf Shores Alabama on March 14, 2022. Lady Eagles won 9-0 and Eagles won 8-1. Winning for Rhea County girls were the following players; Sophie Kay, Ava Travis, Hanna Logsdon, Sydney Hampton, and Isa Holcomb. Lady Eagles won 6th set in a forfeit. Winning doubles for Lady Eagles were the following teams; Kay/Travis and Logsdon/Hampton. Lady Eagles won third game in forfeit. In extra play Ava Nelson/Charlie Brock won 8-2 and Michelle Castillo/Nikkita Pilcher won 6-3. Josie Davidson won 8-0 in singles. Lillian Andrews is coach for the Lady Eagles.

For the Eagles, the following players picked up wins; Brett Hurst, Hand Logsdon, Zach Swafford, David Derlak and Bryce Clift in singles. In doubles Hurst/Logsdon, Swafford/Smith and Derlak/Clift won their matches. In extra play, Braxton Ainsworth and Jessee Fisher played. Garrett Hurst made the trip, but is on IR. Jack Thedford did not make the trip. James Fields is coach for the Eagles.
