Eagles Open Season on Road At Walker Valley at 7 pm, March 14, 2022

Cleveland, TN -- Rhea County High School opens their 2022 season at Walker Valley on Monday night with 7 pm first pitch. Eagles will play over 30 games this year. Eagles completed their annual Green vs Gold intersquad series last week and pitching was very good in the series. The Eagles have a small senior class with Cade Cook, Lane Brooks and Camden Fugate the only seniors on the roster. The freshman class makes up the largest class in the roster with 12 freshman. Sophomore and Juniors each contribute 8 players to the roster.
Four Eagles earned Academic Champions status at ceremony recently. Jalen Fisher, Kole Smith, Eli Schrimpsher, & Elijah Williams. Coach Ray has appreciates the hard work in the classroom.

Coach Ray said, "We were able to get outside most every day. We got in more work than I have seen since I became coach here."
"We do need to swing our bats better. Out pitching has been good in preseason. We have established # 1 and # 2 and established 3 or 4 relief pitchers. We don't have guys throwing a lot of velocity, but coach Latham has done amazing job in fall and in January. We will be O.K. pitching. I have a starting lineup in mind for Monday."
"We begin the season against a very good Walker Valley team on Monday before hosting Walker on Tuesday. Walker could be the best team in the district, so we better be ready."
