2022 Dayton City Volleyball Celebrates 8th Graders

8th Graders Honored in Match Vs Ocoee Middle.

Dayton, TN -- Dayton City honored their 8th grade players before the varsity game vs Ocoee Middle on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. 6th Grade began the night with win in three games, with big 15-11 win in third game for the win. Junior Varsity and Varsity lost to Ocoee.

The 8th grade ceremony honored the seven 8th graders. 8th graders and escorts were given flowers and gifts and celebrated at the volleyball net before fans, family and friends. Honored were Neylee Poole, Hannah Watson, Holly Smith, Kirra Garmany, Brylee Pelfrey, Brie James and Dashara McCarter.

Neylee Poole: Neylee shared her favorite memory from her time with Dayton City Volleyball, the bus ride from Chilhowee game. She also shared her favorite memory verse, "Jeremaih 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not har you, plans to give you hope and a future." For advice she shared, "When you think about stopping, remember why you started."

Hannah Watson: Favorite memory: "Bus ride home from Chilhowee game. Favorite memory verse: "Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." Advice: "Be coachable! Work hard and learn from your mistakes."

Holly Smith: Favorite memory: "Bus ride home from chilhowee." "Favorite memory verse: Psalm 139:14, I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works. My sould knows it very well." Advice: "Your attitude determines how you play."

Kirra Garmany: Favorite memory: Bus ride back from Chilhowee." Favorite memory verse: "Ezra 10:4, Rise up, take courage and do it." Advice: Remember talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships."

Brylee Pelfrey: Favorite memory: Playing dead fish with butts in the air." Favorite memory verse: "Matthew 6:34, Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble on its own." Advice: "Don't stop trying until you achieve the unachievable."

Brie James: Favorite memeory: Bus ride home from Chilhowee. Favorite memory verse: "Deuteronomy 31:6: "Be strong and courageous. do not be afraid. Do not be discourage, for the Lord your God be with you wherever you go." Advice: "Don't be afraid to try something new."

Dashara McCarter: Favorite memory: "Singing on bus ride back from Chilhowee game. Favorit memory verse: "Jeremiah 17:7, But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him." Advice: "Always go after what you want."
