Spring City Celebrated 8th Graders at Rhea Middle School Games, RMS wins Games

Spring City, Tennessee -- Between varsity games against Rhea Middle School, Spring City Middle School celebrated the careers of 15 students who are finishing their middle school seasons on the basketball court. Mason Claswon, Jim Cunningham, Teed Cunningham, Dillian Dimiano, Khalib Easter, Chayce Smith, Gracyn Berry, Cayce Fox, Raylee Fuller, Gracie Tipton, Kayleigh Heath, Korea Ainley, Ava Banks and marlee Hogan were recognized, give flowers and gifts and introduced with their parents/guardians. Players and cheerleaders shared special memories of their middle school time.

Rhea Middle was the winner in both games on the night. In girls' action, it was the Lady Eagles taking the 39-35 win in a tight game. Spring City had an excellent start to the game with Jaslyn Butler and Raylee Fuller combining for 15 of the Lady Bulldogs 18 first quarter points that even saw Butler hitting a 3-point basket at the buzzer. Presley Brawshaw was the lone weapon for the Lady Eagles with all 7 first-quarter points. The scoring slowed down in the second quarter, but Fuller scored all five points for the Lady Bulldogs and they increased their lead to 23-8 at the half.

Rhea Middle came out with much better play in the third quarter and they cut into the Spring City lead with an 11-4 advantage and only trailed 27-19 going into the 4th-quarter. In the 4th quarter, Spring City could not find the basket and Bradashaw and Bishop led the Lady Eagles to the win. The 20 point final quarter score by the Lady Eagles was huge. Jo Bishop(10) and Presley Bradshaw(8) had 18 of those points. Bradshaw had 18 and Bishop had 15 to lead Rhea for the game. Also scoring for Rhea Middle were Reel 2, Lovelady 2, and Ramirez 2. Leading the way for Spring City were Jaslyn Butler(16) and Raylee Fuller(16). Also scoring for Lady Bulldogs was Khloe Rector with 3 points.

Rhea Middle 40 Spring City 26

In boys varsity action, Rhea Middle won 40-26. Bulldogs and Eagles played close for the first half with Rhea Middle enjoying a 17-15 lead after two quarters. In the third quarter, Rhea began to distance themselves from Spring City with a 16-6 advantage and increased the margin to 40-26 at the final buzzer.

Kayson hennessee led the way for Rhea with 16 points. J.T. Brown added 9 points. Also scoring for RMS was: Pendergrass(6), Shirley(6) and Norman with 3 points.
